SHAKTI is a dynamic organization committed to empowering rural communities through diverse and impactful initiatives. Supported by various government bodies, SHAKTI has successfully completed numerous programs aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, science awareness, legal education, and sustainable agriculture among tribal and rural populations.
Our key activities include:Entrepreneurship Development
We have conducted several training programs to foster entrepreneurship among rural youth, supported by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and the Director of Industries, Odisha. Our Food Processing Training Centre serves as a hub for self-employment opportunities.
Science Awareness
In collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, we implement programs to popularize science among SC/ST students, organizing events such as science-based cultural programs, model exhibitions, and drawing competitions.
Legal Awareness
With support from the National Commission for Women, we provide legal awareness training to tribal women in Keonjhar district, empowering them with knowledge and resources.
Agricultural Development
Our initiatives in horticulture, coir development, mushroom cultivation, and fish farming aim to promote sustainable agriculture and self-employment. We also facilitate exposure visits and provide essential resources like bore wells and diesel pump sets to farmers.
Environmental and Health Awareness
We run programs to educate tribal communities about health, hygiene, and environmental conservation, including anti-witch hunting campaigns and health discussions in urban slum areas.
Women Empowerment
SHAKTI supports Self-Help Groups (SHGs) through income generation activities, training in dry fish processing, bamboo craft, and value addition
Recognition
Our efforts have been recognized with the "Prakruti Mitra Award" from the Department of Environment and Forests, Government of Odisha, for our contributions to environmental conservation.
